What to do when you offer FREE or a lower rate of shipping for your auctions and it doesn't help your DSR rating? Actually, you are losing money with every transaction as a seller. You are losing money because this low S&H or FREE S&H you have to eat and it cuts into your bottom line. #2 Your DSR's are lower in this new system no matter what you seem to do people aren't "5-Star happy." This will effect any and all potential gain that this new system's "Powerseller Discount" has to offer. For example, I sold three Wii Mario Kart games shelf fresh and new out of the box (PayPal only even like the new rules say we should have been doing since October 20. 2008) and offered FREE PRIORITY MAIL S&H with these items. I ate the $7.45 a pop charge for the S&H + the 12% ebay and PayPal fees to offer these items for sale. I was lucky and caught these at regular price and tried to make some extra cash for the holidays on this high demand item. Turns out maybe I made $15-20 combined after all was said and done. not including the listing time, packing materials and time spent at the horrible post office where I live. Laying our over $150 to make a measley $15-20. My reward from the new feedback system? Nothing. Actually out of the three I only received ONE positive feedback and I have no idea if they even bothered to do a DSR rating. The other two, after I even messaged them (exposing myself to the potential of being annoying and them leaving me a negative feedback for which I have no recourse for) and you know what? Still nothing. They got their packages and I even tracked them. I offer a much lower rate of shipping (Between $1.49-$1.79 per sportscard which is very low in this category) and do you know what has happend? My DSR rating has FALLEN .02 % now and I am in danger of losing the precious joke of a "Powerseller Discount" that is waived like a carrot under your nose. Under the old system, buyers would leave tons of feedback , hoping that they would get their numbers increased in return. Now with nothing for them to gain, they do not leave much feedback at all and if they do, it's usually DSR unfriendly. This is killing sellers on the site. After listing costs & fees, almost TWENTY PERCENT and actual postage, I make maybe 2 cents on S&H if that. Never mind the previous time, gas, etc...
    My advice is to send reminders if you would like to put yourself out there for retaliation you can't do anything about. That's all we can really do at this point. They don't take anything other than the actual cost of the postage that they see in regards to a transaction in its' entirety as well as even when they pay nothing for shipping, they really don't care what they rate DSR wise. There's really nothing we as sellers can do about this until ebay wakes up and reinstates the old feedback system. If they do not act swiftly, they will go under and look for a bailout like so many other companies are these days. That day is fast approaching, Thousands are leaving daily, But before that happens, thousands of once-profit making ebay home businesses on here will go Bankrupt and turn unprofitable to run.
