Pre-glued, pre-bonded, pre-tipped or wefted remy human hair extensions are hot now. Fusion heat wand, basic fusion, microlink or sew/glued in weaving, it doesn't matter the method - they are in high demand! After 19 years in the industry we get asked the same questions over and over. One of the most frequently asked questions from new customers is "What are keratin tipeed human hair extensions?" To give you the answer, I will tell you what they are and how they are used. I hope that will make it easier for you, and give you the knowledge you need to purchase hair extensions confidently. A keratin tipped hair extension is a small bundle of hair that is dipped into keratin protein adhesive to form a 'tip' at the top. The tip is usually 1/2" to 1" in length size, and the width size depends on the type of tip that has been formed. They come in shapes of shoelace (which is straight and thin) and fingertip (which is curved like your finger nail). A shoelace tip is more versatile, due to its shape. It tends to fit better in microlink or shrink links. The tip width you chose will depend on the process you want to use.

Pre-tipped hair is hair that has been dipped one time in keratin adhesive, that means there is enough glue to keep the bond together NOT to attach it to your own hair with it. You will need to add either more glue (basic fusion process) or a link/tube (microlink or shrink link). Pre-glued/pre-bonded hair is hair that is dipped more than once to give a slightly thicker tip. With pre-glued hair you have enough glue to bond it AND attach it to your hair (fusion heat wand). When pre-glued hair has a shoelace tip you can also use microlinks that are a wider diameter (extra large). When pre-glued hair has a fingertip, you will only be able to use the fusion heat wand.
