Charms are another name for quilt squares or simply put:  squares of fabric.
Jelly Rolls are fabric that has been cut into strips and rolled up in a jelly roll fashion.

Moda, one of the leading manufacturers of fabric today, makes prepacked charms and jelly rolls and many people are buying these items and selling them on Ebay.  Moda precuts charms in 5" squares and the fabric rolls they make are in one size: 40 strips, 2.5" x 44".   This DOES NOT mean that the standard size for quilt squares or charms is 5" or that the standard size for strips of fabric or jelly rolls is 2.5 x 44".

  Charm packs come in every size from 1" squares to 10" squares and everything in between.  The number of squares in a pack can also very.  Likewise with jelly rolls.  Go take a look--the internet has a gourmet selection for the avid sewer! Moda provides shops with "Moda ribbon" so that shops can cut their own custom rolls and charms with their (Moda) fabric.  Since you are not standing in a physical store and cannot  pick up an item and just look at it, --it is VERY important that you READ all information in the item description.  Most Ebay sellers are very dilligent in providing you with all details and sizes of their item, so please give them the same respect if you accidently purchase an item assuming that it is "some other" size.  Most Ebay sellers will exchange or refund your item if it is the wrong size, but a prudent buyer will varify size before buying.

We are very thorough in giving you complete and precise details & sizes in every one of our item listings.  We work closely and consistently with Moda to deliver to you a dynamic array of what you want and to meet your every sewing project demand.  We are receiving requests from buyers for 1" jelly rolls from women who want to knit with fabric and/or make their own bias tape.  We also have had requests from buyers wanting 2" jelly rolls for making borders and sashings (they do not want as much fabric as you get in a 40 2.5x44 inch roll).  Because of the hugh demand of requests for custom orders, we decided to make some of these more popular sizes available to other sewers by placing these items in our store.  A particular jelly roll may be available in 4 different sizes, or a charm pack in 3 different sizes, so read, read and read.

 We cannot understate the importance of reading.....Since you cannot pick up and look at an item, as you would in a physical store, it is important that you read all the information that we, and other sellers have provided in each listing description.  You CANNOT determine the size of a roll by a picture.  A roll of 1" wide strips can look like a larger roll so you must read the description.
