eBay has implemented the new star rating system starting early in 2007. Buyers can rate sellers on their shipping and handling costs to determine if those costs are reasonable. First of  all around May 2007 did you know the Post Office raised its rates!  Another thing buyers don't know, if they don't sell, is that when we seller's print a label for shipping the minimum cost is $1.35 for one ounce NOT the cost of a postage stamp which is 42 cents!  This is because sellers have to pay a higher rate for bulky envelopes and pay for confirmation delivery which is 18 cents!  It is mandatory!  We have no choice! 

So buyers please be aware that when you see shipping costs to think about the actual cost of shipping and the weight of your item.  Also keep in mind that sellers purchase boxes, envelopes, tape, paper, ink, bubble wrap, fragile labels, wrapping paper and tissue!  These things all cost and are factored into your shipping charge!  And what about labor, gas and travel time to the post office?  There are also more costs associated with shipping individual to the seller!

When you rate your sellers be generous with the shipping star as a lot of care has gone into packaging and shipping your item to get it quickly and safely to you the buyer!

****IMPORTANT NOTE:  The United States Post Office  is raising their rates again this May 2008!  Keep in mind when leaving star feedback Sellers are not responsible in any way for the increase!  They have to pay it just like you do!
