When you first visit eBay you are amazed at the vast variety of goods for sale.
How do you find your niche?
Start with what you like to collect, because you can be sure that others have the same passion too. You do not need to be an expert to sell on eBay. Start small and build off of that.
Example: I like flowers so I collect glass vases. I went to a garage sale and found some beautiful green colored vases and purchased them. I began my research by first looking on eBay for similar items, and to my delight I found I had purchased two vaseline glass vases. I paid $1.00 for each and sold them on eBay.
I learned about vaseline glass and made a profit. Each time I collect a new piece of glass, I learn more. Now when I go to a sale I can spot the better glass and have a better idea of it's worth.
The following are resources I use to find information about my item:
- eBay
- Online Search Engines
- Libraries
- Antique Shops
- Flea Markets
- Glass Shows
- Other Collectors
No matter what you collect, just start!
Don't despise the day of small beginnings.
