So you're engaged....what happens next??
If you're anything like me, you were the happiest person alive when you became engaged. There is nothing more satisfying, reassuring, and exciting than marrying the one you love. BUT....here comes the scary part, the part that nobody talks about....how do you plan an entire wedding? And worse, what if you have a budget? Where do you start?
Well....I found the answer, the one stop shop....EBAY. After pricing out invitations, a dress, favors, wedding bands, decorations, food, the hall, etc. etc. I just about had a heart attack. I finally understood the terror that causes people to elope. Until now, I had no idea how much it would cost to get married. I used to laugh at my friends who were spending $20,000 and upwards, turning my nose at how rediculous the whole thing was. Then....I tried planning my own wedding, and I soon understood how they were spending so much money!
So, what do you do to cut down on the cost? Try going to your favorite wedding supply store, casing the joint, and then searching for the things that you saw on Ebay. It sounds cheap, but hey, money doesn't grow on trees, so you have to be thrifty! The wedding is great, but you need to save some cash for that honey moon....
When I'm shopping, I take a notebook along with me, and write down a few name brands that I'm interested in. I also take note of the cost, and the style of the item I'm looking at. The more info you can collect the better. BUT... when searching on Ebay, start out with as broad a search as possible. The more detail you add, the less items you will get in return. For example, instead of searching for "Wilton bow Spring Memories Invitations Kit" try searching just for "Wilton Invitations", then, you can narrow your search from there. Let's face it, some people just don't know that much about what they're selling, so you have to keep it simple.
The other thing I've learned is that we all have a little Martha Stewart in us! Don't be afraid to tackle your own invitations, your own party favors, and hey....your own cake! You can find all of the tools that you need on Ebay, and with a few hours....okay, maybe a few months...you can have the wedding of your dreams, and maybe even learn a new trade....
who knows....
after planning your wedding, you may just learn that you're an expert at making imitations...
and where does that lead you??
Right back to Ebay!
Everyone has the potential to both buy and sell; to create, and appreciate what other's have created....
and it can all happen.....
at the touch of a keyboard.
So...have fun, enjoy this time, you only have to plan one wedding....(we hope..lol)...and don't forget....
EBAY makes things
E easy
B bearable
A affordable
Y your own creation!
