We recently found out that the Gameboy DS is even more amazing than we previously thought and can survive getting soaked. My 3yr old daughter created this experiment when she dropped my DS into the bathtub with bubbles and all. When the DS wouldn't turn on, she told on herself and I found a black screen DS that was making horrible noises. I couldn't really get it to turn off. I removed the game cartridge and sat both on top of the microwave she my lovely daughter couldn't reach it. The next day both the DS and the game were fine. Of course we aren't telling my daughter that they still work, cause she is about to be downgraded to playing on an SP.
In addition to this unplanned experiment, my child has dropped both DS's many times, once while sitting in a grocery cart. When the DS hit the floor both game cartridges went flying. All in all, for $130 this little system holds up to what children can do to it. So should yours get wet, wait it out a few days. Mine took 1 day to dry out but your may take a few.
