I saw someone flying this thing and it looked fun. I bought one on ebay for a good deal. We took it out on the lake and towed it with a Polaris PWC. I'm 220lbs, and the combo of a low-power pulling craft and my heft seem to be a good mix for not getting too much air. Most of the time I bounced up a few feet, then came back down to drag the bottom of the tube in the water. It was fairly fun for about 15 minutes. Then I hit a gust of wind, and in about 1 second was 30-40 feet in the air, at which point the tube lost stability, flipped over, and slammed me back down into the water at a much faster than free-falling speed. I had not time to react. I landed so hard it knocked the wind out of me and burst my eardrum. Now, the day after, my neck and back hurt so bad I feel like I've been in a car wreck. Just so you know, I watched the video that came with this tube, and we followed all the instructions. We weren't hot-dogging. We weren't going to fast. Most of the time I was barely out of the water. This tube is hightly unstable. That's not a big deal when you're only a foot off the water, but it become a much bigger deal when you are 30 feet up, going 25mph. Buyer be warned, you can get seriously jacked up riding this thing. I'm not getting back on it. I'll cut my losses at one ruptured ear drum, and call it good. At least my bones are in tact. One gust of wind and you're toast.
