This is just a few things I do on a daily basis to keep my electric bill way down..mine for this last month was only $65.00 so this kinda stuff works so try it and watch your electric bill go down...

1. Either change all your light bulbs to flourescent ones or at least lower the wattage on them..you can get the same light from a 60 watt bulb as a 100 watt one...

2. make sure your ice box is not up against the wall makes it work harder when it can not breathe...plus turn your ice box up does not need to be on the coldest setting to keep items cold...

3. wash only in cold water ---bleach does no good in hot water and most laundry soaps are made to work only in cold water...

4. hang heavy items to dry like jeans and just fluff them in the dryer to make them soft --cuts down on drying time...

5. Unplugged used items --your printer--scanner--dvd player--can opener --microwave all still use electric by just being plugged in...only plug them in when you need to use them...

6. turn down that electric hot water heater--you will find that most hot water heaters are set on the highest setting they do not need to be that high mine is set at 120 and I have nice hot water

7. Watch that thermostat turn in up or down just a bit in the summer and winter..be confortable..I keep mine at 76 in the summer and about 68 in the winter time...

8. turn items off --if you are not in the room lights radios tvs do not need to be on

9. make sure all vents in your house are uncovered and your ac and heating unit is cleaned --new filters are a must..even the outdoor unit must be cleaned to remove people and pet hair and dust bunnies--makes it work so much better

10. Mini blinds are a must and get thicker curtains if you live in a very cold or very hot climate helps alot with cooling and heating bills..

11. check all windows and doors --do you feel a draft???? many products on the market to seal these problems areas up --also in the summer does that one window feel hot..put a reflective product on that window even foil will work for a cheap way out..will cut your cooling bills..not the prettiest in the world but works..

I hope some of my ideas will help others out

many thanks

cc
