I have to start this off by telling you something important... 'I DO NOT SELL, OFFER, SUPPORT, PROFIT, WORK FOR, OR ANY WAX OR POLISH BRANDS, DISTRIBUTORS, PROMOTERS...I'M NOT BEING PAID TP ENDORSE ANYTHING EITHER. My facts are my opinion only and I receive no reward or benefit as a result.
Maybe I'm like you? I started searching for reviews and feedbacks on products to make sure that what I bought was the best bang for my buck. I ended up learning a lot more. You get what you pay for, well most of the time anyway...
Whether you want to spend 50 or 10 bucks on a single product the main difference is in quality control. Let's face it, mass produced mass marketed items fall short in overall comparison simply because the mixtures tend to be inconsistant. But there are some high priced mixtures out there not worth the experience.
My best over-all pick is a Mass Marketed product however. Based on cost, consistant mixture/qulaity control, shine, application ease and use, availability, studies of non-biased reviews and countless postings by users, and finally tried and true tested by me.
Before you settle on my choice please be aware that people promote the products they sell, advertise, and get paid to endorse or promote... don't read and accept any review untill you check out the whole site. Many times these reviews happen to sell the product on the very site you are reading the review if you check. How can a publication or any business who gets paid to advertise a product afford to tell you that an advertisers product doesn't measure up?
NXT Generation Tech Wax by Meguiar's about $15.00 is the overall winner in my book Followed by Mothers paste wax.
I read a review on ebay where it warned you to stay away from Carnuba based wax, stating it was "old school" or "old fashioned" even "outdated". I visit many car and motorcycle shows and I ask owners with the nicest finishes I see, "what kind of wax did you choose?" The overwhelming answer is "Mothers". When it comes to the big boys, you usually won't get an answer and if you do it will be a multi-step very expensive and labor intensive product. Since I don't want to spend or devote that much time it doesn't reall matter or interest me. The clay bar and paste wax system that Mothers offers is nearly just as good as the Meguiar's but it does cost more so judge that with the extra time and money factor. For superior shine difference it's almost down to the magnifying glass. If you have an older finish, a weathered or slightly aged/oxidized finish that needs polishing? I would say Mothers system is best. If you have a new or newer finish and you want to highlight or enhance it? NXT hands down wins.
Maybe Carnuba Wax won't last as long, especially with a finish left to the elements day in and day out but it is anything but old school, outdated, or old fashioned because the results are still spectacular and superior.
Read through reviews where the products are not offered for sale or advertised, many times the reviewer was good enough to post a disclaimer in regards to this matter. The ones that take something ordinary and use the products on them. They provide pictures of the results and details of what they found. These are the places that will provide you with the high dollar mixtures and the mass marketed mixtures. I feel confident that when you find the right places what you will discover is what I have told you above. I did not include the more expensive and harder to find products which are extremely exceptional simply because I don't feel it's necessary to work that hard or spend that much to get the results I expect or need. On the other hand those expectations and results I do need are very important and I have exact standards in what my finish should be.
If you take the time to read reviews and you want to spend the money on the time consuming, labor extensive, higher priced products then my suggestion is to find reviewers on owner groups, forums, and non-commercial organizations that provide complete reviews as I have outlined, opinion, pictures to support, and no involvement with sales or promotion.
