Dishonest Sellers

  Many of our family here at eBay, as well as Pay Pal, are very happy doing business here. We find many sellers who are Honest. My husband recently had a run in with a new seller to eBay. His eBay ID is: nachos.

 In January of 2008 my husband purchased a Fish Filter with accessories, however, he never recieved the item. We communicated back and forth and the seller told us not to worry ,"This nighmare will be over soon." Trying to be patient we waited to here from him again. He finally wrote and stated that he had to purchase another unit and the one he had he tracked to a postal carrier who destroyed the package. He in turn purchased another unit and wanted more money from us. This is not good business practice. My understanding of the rules on eBay are that the seller is responsible to see his sale carried through until the Package is in the hands of the Buyer. He is now wanting to leave this in our hands to go after the postal carrier. This is unethical practice, this man does not understand the rules, or does not care. He took our money and that was it. In the meantime beings it is past the 45 day mark, due to our patience, eBay or Pay Pal is not offering any help to us, the Buyer, At All. We should have never gone past the 45 day limit and this is what I am trying to share with other Buyers, do not wait to open a dispute. If so you are not getting your money back! I have written to eBay and Pay Pal and they are offering no protection, as promised to the Buyers, for a refund of our money. This is an unfair act on Pay Pal's part, as well as eBay, because they are not really protecting the buyer as they state that they do! Just please be aware of who you deal with and again DO NOT wait to open the dispute if your item is not received. Our mistake was being patient and as soon as the seller saw he was past the 45 day limit he knew nothing would happen. He played the part very well and now we are the ones paying for lost money. Being on disability, as we are, we cannot afford things of this nature to occur. I will continue to try and receive our refund and hope that eBAy and Pay Pal see things our way, the Buyer, and protect us against this matter. There are many GOOD sellers out there so don't take this the wrong way and think badly about any other seller.  Also make sure you put the correct address to where you want your package to go, if it is not the registered one then PLEASE let the seller know. Just be ware of who, and what you are dealing with, be kind with your communications but be firm and don't go past that 45 day limit.
