WASH YOUR CAR YOURSELF
Washing a car is fun for car lovers. It seems like a simple job—and it is—but you have to keep some important tips in mind.
Never wash your car when its body is hot. Allow it to cool. Washing is difficult under sunlight because the soap and water dry up immediately. Clean the car lengthwise; don’t move the cleaning cloth in circles.
If the sponge or cloth falls on the ground, then clean it thoroughly to remove any dirt particles. Any particles stuck in the sponge can damage the car surface.
Rinse the car thoroughly and remove the surface dirt before washing it. This makes washing simpler.
Don’t wait for your car to be very dirty before washing it. It wears off the car paint. The atmosphere contains certain acids that react with the car surface and dilute the wax strength. So wash your car regularly.
Rainfall is not a natural way to wash your car. The chemicals in the rainwater may react with the car surface especially if the rain is acidic in nature.
Never use hand soap, detergents or glass cleaner for washing the car. They are harmful to the car wax.
Use a sponge or soft cloth for washing the car. You can buy a car-wash product from your local store.
Get yourself a bug and tar remover to remove grease and tar deposits from the wheel wells and the lower body of the car. A wheel cleaner must be used to wash the wheel thoroughly.
Air-drying the car is a bad idea. It will leave watermarks on the car. Don’t use any hard cloth or material that can leave scratches on the car surface. Always use soft materials for the car.
