My bad experience on buying an automotive extended service agreement from Wannantech. I purchased my 3 year 60K service contract in 2006 for $2700. The sellers customer service dept at Dealer Service was more than happy to sell and set up a payment plan on my charge card for this service contract from Warrantech and they advised me how great this by would be to reduce all out of pocket expenses with only a $100 deductible per visit. Well the first year went by with out any needed repairs. Then my Ford truck front wheel calipers locked up due to a part defect and off to the nearest repair center I went. My vehical was inspected and I was advised by the repair center tech that the calipers had locked up which cause my rotors to overheat and warp which caused my brake pads to burn up. Now, Im in need of my service warranty from Warrantech to help me with my repair cost? The repair center tech called Warrantechs claim dept contact number and could not reach them after numerous trys thru out the day for 3 days !! Finally contact was made on the forth day and my repair center tech was told that the only covered item was the caliper that they covered at $87. Even though this item caused the rotor warpping and brake pad replacement. My out of pock cost was $530 and my service contract paid $87!! Not a good feeling for a service contract who promised complete coverage so I called the customer service dept at Dealer Services to cancel my agreement for unsatisfied service and they quickly talked me into staying a customer and even reduced my contract fee by $200. Next repair came a few months later and two FWBBB complaints for lack of service/fraud to file a claim for over a month that my vehical stayed at the Ford Service Center waiting to file a repair claim. I again called the Customer Service Dept at Dealer Service to cancel my agreement and managed to get a supervisor who stated I could not cancel or stop payment which would forfeit my service contract!! Warrantechs reply from BBB complaint #1 was proceed to file claim. The new claims dept adjuster form Capital stated that my 4x4 differential lock motor $800 was not covered because the verbage didnt match there verbage but the locking hubs $620 were covered for $300 only?? How can they only cover half a part makes no sense to me, even though my service agreement pamphlet listed both items. I called the Warrantech claims dept adjuster and stated that this part 4x4 locking motor is the same part and he became very rude!! I again called the Customer Service Dept at Dealer Service to cancel agreement and they transferred me to a line that put me on hold for over 45 minutes then disconnected!! Well, I have now picked up my vehical from the Ford Service Center without any help from Warrantech Service Warranty and "my out of pocket cost was 1st repair $530, 2nd repair $870, service contract price $2700 and non replacement of Locking Hubs. So before you buy a warranty from any company be sure to check out the facts because it could cost you big money in the long run!!!
