Here is a simple product.  Primary use is  in the car.  The screen lights up in variant colors at night.  I emphasize night time because it as an optical diode that senses light during the day, therefore it only activates at night.  Here are the colors: Purple, Orange, Red, Green and Blue.

The outside body is silver in color and rectangular in shape.  The item comes with a car mount, D/C 12v-13.8v Car Power Plug, and an extra long antenna with a built-in earth magnet that attaches on the outside of a car.  This magnet will stay on the no matter how fast you are going (245.5 mph is the current test ran by me an my friends so far on the Talladega Race Way Track).

If you want to "rig" it for home use.  Buy a AC/DC car invertor from Radio Shack.  This simple unit from radio shack can alter an A/C power supply from your wall plug at home or work to an acceptable form just like your car's ciggarete lighter.  Because it has a built in FM Transmitter in the unit (XM Radio), it can tramsit into your home stereo.  Just keep the antenna by your wall plug, a plumming pipe or close to a window.  That should answer to the question of how it will play in your car also.
