When writing a Review, Guide, or even a Booklet - remember that we live in a World where, in general, we want to Get The Information -- and Go!

If Reading Material is difficult to read or (appears to) likely consume too much time to read, the reader may become uninterested - and leave. 

Or, the reader may save it in their favorites for later reading -- and again, never read it.

If you get significant UN-HELPFUL VOTE(S) on your Review or Guide - Take some time to attempt to EDIT the TITLE and information.

I don't think that you must necessarily write well to write a review or guide on ebay, yet the writing should be EASY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND -- if the ebayer-readers get your point -- you have succeeded! 

And hopefully, ebay-readers will Grade your Informational Guide or Review as HELPFUL.  SOME READERS MAY NOT PROVIDE A GRADE because they have received the information which they wanted -- are they are now BACK ON THE GO!

WHAT MAKES A DOCUMENT DIFFICULT - or uninteresting - TO READ:

• a lot of SMALL TEXT

• LARGE TEXT throughout a document

• LONG PARAGRAPHS

• LOTS of TEXT

• OVERUSE of ITALIC

• ALL CAPS throughout much of the document

I have come across interesting-titled documents online, that I'd like to read, but the document was very long which appeared time consuming.  I've seen interesting-Topic Guides with ONE LONG, NORMAL TEXT PARAGRAPH.  

WHAT TO DO TO MAKE A DOCUMENT EASIER TO READ:

• Use at least 2 Different SIZES of FONT for the TEXT

• One Size for MAIN TITLE
• One Size for HEADING, TOPIC-TITLES
• Normal Size for the READING-TEXT

• Break text into SHORT PARAGRAPHS

• Use BOLD

• Use PICTURES

• Pictures and Bold Text GRAB ATTENTION!  Relate Pictures to the writing-topic -- or provide pictures which help provide soothing-reading

  

• USE ALL CAPS - to get ATTENTION and/or as a TITLE-HEADER

• Use ITALIC when you want to

• STRESS A WORD

• use QUOTES

• to UNDERLINE

• When making a LIST, use BULLETS or NUMBERS, whichever is applicable to the informational-text

• Use LINKS that work and are usable for the Reader

• A non-working, NON-USABLE LINK could result in a READER'S NOT HELPFUL VOTE on a Review or Guide.

• Double check that your item-search links work.  Note that some links to searches may sometimes produce no results to Sellers' listed items - as there may be no matching listed items that particular day or week. 

• Use CHARACTER-DESIGNS for eye-breaks

• Try Using these if you have none available as .JPGs:

Remember some characters [such as asterisks, quotes, html] cannot be used on your Ebay Reviews and Guides.

Additional Tips that I just learned:

PREVIEW YOUR REVIEW or GUIDE with ebay's PREVIEW option before Submitting or SAVING/CONTINUING.  Double check that your item-search links work in the PREVIEW.
