I agree with most of you about the finery ..but all of us cannot afford..all the great brand names...a gal or guy working and struggling to feed, house..saddle and also what your wearing.
A safe helment is very important...in Jumper...ahhhhhhhhh...the dress code for lower classes is a hunt coat..breeches..helment..blouse..or shirt...and a nice set of boots..field or hunt.
If you have the money to go further...then a better set of gear is fine...just because Bonnie has the newest gismo on her hourse does not mean you have tooooooo
Remember is not what you dirive up in..it is what comes out of the trailer..and vehicle...
I see so many gals and guys who have talent..and cannot afford all the great clothing....maybe someday a person might get an idea to have a place where people can drop off there used clothes...and give them to the up and coming riders.
I see so many trainers...tell there customers that they must have....horse....must have clothes..must have..must have...really...there are not many must haves....good helment is required...
I see alot of fustrated dads..and moms...at shows..seeing tons of money being spent...why don't we get back to the basics of riding and showing..
Trim the the MUST HAVES... and think of what your trainer is really telling you..before you write that check for 34,000 for a hunter..or jumper horse...and then adding clothing of about 1500......
And tell your daughter or son...SMILE.... in the ring..this is suppose to be enjoyabe..........
