WHO SHOULD BUY SIGNIFICANTLY DISCOUNTED NEW, GENTLY USED OR LIKE NEW CLOTHING ON EBAY?

-  Students who want a GREAT wardrobe without the credit card debt and whose education expenses (wisely) always come first.

-  Parents of children growing so fast the kids don't have time to wear their clothes out.  Parent can pass on smaller sizes through eBay, recouping some of the cost and then use it to buy larger sizes without assuming a lot of cost

-  Post Gastric Bypass Patients who will need to be dressed for work and play, even as they go down through many sizes to their final weight.

-  The lady or gentlemen with discerning taste, who knows and loves the best labels for their fine fabric, classic cuts, colors and tailoring detail, with limited money (for example: Burberry is wonderful but few can afford to pay over $500.00 for a Burberry Raincoat).

-  Ladies or gentlemen who want to try a new look or trend but don't want to invest a lot of money in it because of cost and the fact that trends change fast.

-  The vacationer who just discovered they will be attending a formal dinner on a cruise or now the trip to Mexico is booked for January, you've discovered the money's gone and the summer clothes are worn and tired or don't fit.

-  Those who love a color that just isn't sold ANYWHERE this year (why does the fashion industry do this?

-  You are environmentally conscious and know it is better for our world to recycle.  You are  aware that the manufacturing of new garments contributes significantly to pollution, including CO2 emissions found to exacerbate global warming,  You understand that recycling good clothing makes best use of the already manufactured garments while cutting the amount of pollutants significantly.

-  Those who have suffered a catastrophe including floods or a house fire.  Quickly it will become apparent that the insurance generally does not cover one for one replacements of your wardrobe.  

No matter why you come to eBay, the reason that tops the list for buying gently used items is that it will really be the most prudent use of available clothing dollars, especially if you are a student or have a growing family. 

One of the most eye popping facts revealed in the book "The Millionaire Next Door" is how practical most millionaires actually are when it comes to all aspects of their lives and prudent use of the money they live on is the driving force behind accumulating wealth.  There is absolutely no disconnect between looking sharp and being exceptionally well dressed on a shoestring -- one just has to know how to do it.

Getting started is easy -- develop a list of items you need and want in the brands, colors and sizes you prefer.  It is OK to choose those pricey brands that will fit and wear well -- you can afford them on eBay!  Never bought the clothing lines you love before?  Go to a local mall and try on the best of the best, making note of brands, sizes, styles and colors that flatter.  If you are particularly fond of a particular fabric, make a note of it (example: Sweater: 45% wool 55% acrylic or jeans 97% cotton and 3% lycra).

Shopping for a family?  Repeat the process to focus on your family members.  Be sure to include sizes, colors and styles that you think are best for each family member.   Go ahead and dress your two year old in Ralph Lauren or your teen in her favorites -- they are actually reasonable to buy as gently used on eBay in most cases!! 

It is really practical to recognize eBay as a clothing source for those items you will only wear once or rarely (i.e. formal wear).  Let someone else buy it for $2,000 -- you pick it up for $100!!  Need a Santa suit -- check eBay first!  Attending a costume ball?  Check eBay and I bet you find costumes you can own that are less expensive than a quality rental.
