Is your child's room ready for a change but you don't have weeks to spend redecorating?  Only one or two changes can make a world of difference and you'll be satisfied that you didn't have to empty your wallet to do it.   Here are some ideas for changing your child or toddler's bedroom dramatically with fast results:

1.       Tired of that plain comforter?  Buy a new one with a theme from their favorite TV show or sports team.

2.       Paint the room to match the comforter you already have.  Take a swatch of the fabric to your local home and gardening store and have them mix up paint to match or contrast it.  You can also try painting a mural on one wall to match the theme of the room.  Let your child help with the painting, as it will make the room even more special to them.

3.       Buy some accessories to match the bedroom theme, such as new throw pillows, a blanket, curtains, or an area rug.

4.       Rearrange the furniture.  This can make a world of difference.  Grouping the furniture in different ways can open up space you never even knew you had.

5.       Instead of painting, try stenciling on the walls.  The supplies can be picked up at your local craft store and there are a plethora of themes and colors available.

6.       Is the light in the bedroom dim?  Add some new lighting fixtures or move some in from another room.  They're quick and change the lighting effect immediately.  You can place small lamps just above the bed for reading time or replace the old ceiling light with a quirky lamp that matches the tone of the room.

7.       Frame some of your child's artwork and hang it on the walls.

8.       Is the old furniture worn but you can't bear to part with it?  Freshen it up with a coat of paint.

9.       Does your child have a lot of books?  You could get them a small bookcase to organize and remove clutter as well as display some of their toys or collectibles.

10.   Do they have a favorite author or book series?  You can frame color copies of some of the covers of the books and hang them near their reading area.
