Ticket buyers, please be aware!
Now is the big season for ticket sales, with many festivals and great bands touring the UK this summer, and the end of this year. I know what a pain ticket touts are, and it's makes buying tickets a pain. However, amoungst these touts are DISHONEST sellers.
Buying your tickets
Buying tickets on eBay can be quick and easy, even though you may have to pay more. But do be aware that there are many people on eBay selling tickets, that don't have them in hand, and haven't even purchased any. In particular, for gigs such as Reading and Leeds and V Festival where tickets sell at very high prices, you must be careful with your purchase, and here is why:
Buyer protection ONLY 45 days after purchase
The paypal buyer protection policy will ONLY insure your purchase for up to 45 days after you've bought your ticket. This means that any tickets being sold for a gig that is further away than 45 days, you are at risk of loosing your buyer protection. After this time, any paypal claims made will not be processed, and your money will be lost if your item is not delivered.
How do you know this?
Because it happened to me! Last year I bought a pair of tickets for reading, about 60 days in advance. Come closer to the time I enquired about getting the tickets, heard nothing from the seller for over a week. I filed a claim, and it was soon rejected as 45 days had passed. That was me about £500 out of pocket, and not going to Reading.
So, be very careful
So, I'm urging anyone buying tickets over 45 days in advance to be VERY CAREFUL! Make sure you check the feedback of your seller, see if they have any other recent honest activity. The best solution would be to pay by credit card, so if all fails and you get scammed, you can file a chargeback.
Anyway people, though I would mention this one.
Have a fantastic summer, and happy gigging!!
