Traffic lights are suspended over the road unlike in the UK. Right turns are permitted on a red light, provided that you have come to a complete stop and there is nothing coming from your left. A left turn is controlled by its own arrow, but you should give way to traffic coming from the opposite direction on a solid green light. A flashing amber means that you can proceed provided no other traffic is joining the road and on a flashing red you can proceed if all is clear.
