Let me start out by saying, "I Love E-Bay".  You see ebay makes it easy to make money and start a profitable business within months.  I was able to make my small fortune selling Vinyl records.

A lot of people always ask me, "Do they still make them?".  When they come to my house and see my attic they are intrigued by my wall of records.

Who would of thought that this world would change so much that 12" Vinyl would be gazed upon as if it was an ancient artifact.  It appears that most people do not realize that Vinyl is still a hot commodity and sell fast and quick on ebay.  So stop what your doing, take a look around in your attic or basement, wipe off those old 45's and 12" records and start selling.  Here's 3 things you need to know to make some fast cash with old vinyl.
 
First, "Create a List".  I use excel to make my list so I can sort the records once I list them.  It also makes it easy to cut and paste into the ebay description page once you are ready to sell.  All you need is 3 columns.  #, Artist, and Album.  Excel is a great tool to use if you have a long list of records to sell and you are planning to sell multiple lots.
 

Second, "Sell in Bulk, but not TOO BULKY" .  People rather buy more than one record at a time, but they also can't afford to buy a whole boat load either (Shipping is way too much.  Vinyl is heavy).  I've learned to sell in lots of 10-30.  I think buyers want the a few records but don't want to spend a lot to get them.  You can fit up to 15 records in the the flat rate priority boxes for shipping in the US.  I have found this helpful and cost efficient.  Order now, they are free. Goto USPS.com, click on Supplies under Shipping Tools and then click on Flate Rate Boxes.  The 11.875" X 3.375" X 13.625" box fits records, perfectly. 

Last, "Give Discounts, and BUY Now OFFERS".  I have learned the quickest way to sell is using ebay's "Buy Now" option.  This is fabulous.  It allows you to set the price you want and it allows buyers to buy instantly.  It's usually $.25 to $1.00 more, depending on the price of your items.  But I always use it.  I also use it creatively to offer the buyer special deals for Buying Now.  Usually I offer additional records for Buying Now, I have also had success by offering special discounts if multiple lots are purchased at a time.  See my auction: See My Special Offers

 
Hopefully, these tips will make you as successful as I have been.  Remember to be reasonable with your pricing, but don't short change yourself.  Albums are worth MONEY.
