I was able to cull most of my info from The 1908 Sears & Roebuck catalog. Some of their advertisements read:

"Lavender Smelling Salts. Refreshing and invigorating. For faintness ,headache, etc. In pretty glass stoppered bottles,a useful and handsome ornament for the dressing table." 

"The Famous White Lily Face Wash. The great face, neck and arm whitener. The ladies favorite toilet preparation. Recommended by thousands of beautiful women. "Perfumed Scalp Food. A highly beneficial and absoluteky harmless hair dressing for invigorating the scalp, preventing the falling of the hair and for keeping it soft and glossy. Perfumed Scalp Food should be applied to the scalp after each treatment with Princess Hair Tonic .
