Maud Frizon de Marco was born in Paris in 1941.  A beautiful and glamourous girl,  she worked as a model for Nina Ricci, Jean Patou, and Dior and very often for Andre Courreges. In the 1960's models were expected to provide shoes to complement the couture they wore.  Unable to find shoes that pleased her,  Maud decided to produce her own.

In 1969, she created her first shoe collection. Each pair of shoes was not only hand-cut and finished, but also sexy and unpredictable. She took Paris by storm! Toujours feminine and spectacularly eccentric, Maud Frizon shoes are recognized by their coquettish extravagance and have become icons of haute couture. In 1969 Maud opened her first shop  St Germain des Pres. The cone heel is a Maud Frizon trademark. It allows for height and wearability.

Maud Frizon shoes often use  unusual combinations. Lizard and snake, suede and satin canvas and crocodile. Brigitte Bardot was a regular client, particularly for Frizon's high-heeled Russian boots. She has designed shoes for Alaia, Misssoni, Montana, Mugler and Sonia Rykiel.
