Vogue did a good job reproducing the Crib Crowd Ginny the past few years.  In some cases too good of a job.

For whatever reason, Vintage Crib Crowd dolls are showing up on Ebay with repro Crib Crowd legs.  How can you tell if the Vintage Crib Crowd Doll has her original legs when you can't hold the doll in your hands?  Actually there are numerous ways, but the two easiest are listed below.

Check the feet.  If the seller won't show you the feet, don't bid.

The doll on the left is an original Crib Crowd.  Note the seam across the bottom of the foot.  Sometimes this has even started to separate.  Now look at the repro foot on the right.  No seam, or the seam has been scraped nearly even and only a shadow of a seam remains.

Look at the toes.  The original CC's toes form more of a curve from this angle.  The repro CC has very defined toes and they are clearly visible as little toes on the right.

It is fairly clear when you look at the toes that the reproduction Crib Crowd has a much more detailed toe.  Even the toenails are definied.

But the real difference is the wrinkles.  The original Crib Crowd Doll has a wrinkle at the ankle and her little chubby baby toes have wrinkles.  The reproduction Crib Crowd does not. 

 Just remember the older you are the more wrinkles you have and the same is true of the Crib Crowd Doll. If the foot isn't wrinkled, it is not old!
