I recently bought this projector, and I have to say, I am pretty impressed. I got rid of my television, as I needed the space, and this projector definitely replaced my tv well!
I plugged in my digital cable box via s-video, and the quality is really good. I am projecting on a white wall for the moment and it's almost as good as projected on a screen. There is also a VGA input to plug in your computer. Only drawback for that is that the resolution is 800x600 (After writing this guide, I found a way to make it 1024x768, just change your computer display settings, it will work), but to watch a downloaded movie, quality is excellent.
The projector features are really easy to understand. The remote control is simple and you can adjust things like brightness, aspect ratio, contrast, etc. The keystone feature really helps into making the image a perfect rectangle. You can switch between inputs or if you have just one plugged in, it will detect it when you power up.
There is no zoom. So you have to place the projector at a specific distance to get a specific screen size. For example, I placed my screen at about 9 feet and it creates a screen of approx. 69 inches in diagonal. My estimate is that it is approx. 1.5:1 throw ratio, even if it is claimed to be 2:1.
The brightness is really good, and it is DLP, so even after thousands of hrs of usage, the image will not turn yellow like LCD.
Also, it is not too loud. I have it set up in quite a small room and with the sound system on when you watch something, you barely notice the humming. It's really not a burden. You can put it in whisper mode, but the image will be less bright.
In the end, I would have to say that I recommend this projector for anyone that is looking for a 1st projector. For the price, it is phenomenal!
