I went to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand last year.  Every market, large and small, had several vendor's with hundreds of these fake lighters.  Every museum had a pile too, Ho Chi Minh museum, what's left of the Hanoi Hilton: all the same.  I saw tens of thousands, almost all brass color.  Most had inscriptions on the lid, and many with naughty sayings.  All mosern fakes.  The lighters I see online with glued on devices are also modern fakes. Beware collectors.
