Here's the deal all you victorian book collectors....especially those of Antique CHILDREN'S books.....Please....DO NOT expect these rare and beloved books to be perfect....they are NOT. They were absolutely adored by their owners.....1-8 year olds! BE real!! The book is already over 100 years old. And owned, no less, by a toddler! How can you possibly expect this book to be pristene?? I "ain't" gonna happen my friends. Some buyers of victorian children's book expect them to be taken care of the same as if an adult owned the book. If you want PRISTINE....then DO not, I repeat, DO NOT buy a kid's book! They were given as Christmas gifts, birthday gifts and "now, you're going to kindergarten" books. Most likely they have enjoyed being chewed on, slobbered on and maybe even drug through the mud! That is EXACTLY the beauty of the book itself! It shows character, longevity and beauty. Buyers like robi_l_o, clearly have absolutely NO idea about children nor 110 year old children's books. If you want a pristine book, obviously you have to pay a PRISTINE price. Any idiot knows how to ship a book....if they are at least 1/2 way sane, they'll wrap the book in bubble wrap and then into a thick manila envelope. If you are sending Christ's gospel, well then you should perhaps think about an armoured truck, or at the very least insured over-nite Fed-Ex delivery. If it's a $25.00 antiquity, simply take care in mailing. Get real, ro_ib_io. What makes YOU the expert anyway??
