Etro’s signature paisleys, luxe fabrics and leathers are staples in the well-dressed woman’s wardrobe. Founded and owned by the same Italian family, the torch has been passed beautifully to 32-year old Veronica Etro and her three brothers. Veronica recently accompanied a Wall Street Journal reporter on a scarf-shopping expedition to Neiman Marcus in San Francisco. She offers a few pointers for updating and wearing your scarf collection:
-choose high quality fabrics in interesting weaves (such as waffle, basket) to add impact
-use black (or another dark color) as an anchor for all-over, bold patterns such as Pucci
-wear conservative scarves (such as Hermes shawls) with more casual pieces, such as jeans, to achieve a fresh, modern look
-experiment with large square scarves--wear as halter top or tie into a hobo-style evening bag
-roll small scarves (17” Pucci) to wear as headbands, bracelets or handbag accents
