The most important thing to do before investing in a piece of Coca-Cola history is to do research on the machine you like the most. Don't pick the one that looks the coolest, but chose for the future, ask yourself if the machine will hold its value, or even increase. Also, if you are not going to re-sell your machine quickly, choose one which will suite your needs. Trust me, it is a pain-in-the-neck to find and ship 6.5 oz bottles for your vending machine that already cost enough by itself. Buy something that will a) keep you interested, b) keep you out of debt (machines can cost up to $6,000 +) and c) that will have a purpose.
I have been looking for months trying to find the right item for sale. I have researched and found the Vendo 81 machines the most reliable. These machines have a capacity of 81 bottles with a precool section of 17, and can fit 16oz bottles! The machines also have a great color scheme, the best of all being the white top with the red bottom. An old fashioned machine which is great if you don't have that much room. They keep their value and are increasing in cost rapidly, but beware of non-restored machines, ask as many questions as you can. Remember, there are hundereds of owners of these machines, do not get the first one you find, research, and there will be another one.
Importantly, have fun with your vending machine, and the long road before.
