It's time for me to write this guide, because I have been getting hundreds of questions over the past month or so about magickals and the powers that they are capable of. Looking at the metaphysical category makes my hair stand on end, and I am truly sorry for those who have been taken advantage of by sellers and their outrageously false claims. These people are counting on those with little knowledge of metaphysics.
First of all, yes there are paranormal items that do have the ability to create highly dramatic change in the physical world. These items are extremely rare and truly are one in a million. For example, the Blue Nova ring I currently have up at auction is such an item, but it is not every day that I stumble across an item like that. Certainly, spellcast items and items with entities attached, have incredible powers but what I am talking about here are the completely OVER-THE-TOP and outlandish lies that metaphysical sellers are peddling about WHAT SPIRITS ARE CAPABLE OF.
I am going to make this simple and to the point. You can either trust what I am telling you as a metaphysical practitioner of over thirty years, or you can go and buy a trinket that does nothing for you. Let's start with Vampire items, though most of what is written here applies to the bogus claims made on Fae and other non-human disembodied entities.

Now, you can go ahead and apply everything that is written above about vampires to DOLLS, FAERIES, DRAGONS, and other archetypal spirit elements.
The only way that I can explain this without writing a complicated metaphsyical treatise is to give you this analogy: If you become friends with the most beautiful, rich, powerful woman in the world this does not automatically make you beautiful, rich, and powerful. Sure, you may pick up some residual effects from your association with that person, but you are still YOU. Bonding with spirits can enhance your understanding of the psychic realms, give you strong glimpses into the world of magick, and greatly enrich your life...but you are still in a human body and restricted to this human body as long as you are in it. If you want to shapeshift, I am sorry to say that you will have to undergo YEARS of training in shamanic tradition in order to be able to get your consciousness to a point where you are capable of such a tremendous feat. You cannot buy a ten dollar ring on Ebay and expect to shapeshift. The only thing that will shapeshift is your money. If you want to hypnotize people, then take a course and understand the pyschological technique for doing so. If you want to control a legion of demons, good luck with that.
Another concern is that not only are you acquiring an item under false pretenses, but those false pretenses can create very negative energetic effects. For example, most disembodied entities do not take kindly to human beings who attempt to drain them of their power for earthly/greedy reasons. They are very rarely generous when they know that they are trying to be tapped for their power. Their power is THEIRS, and you should consider yourself lucky if you actually acquire some of the residual effects from it. When you buy a trinket with false claims like that, no doubt the trinket doesn't truly have an entity in the first place--but these entities are out there and in our environment and they know what occurs in their name. It's just not good.
Like I always say, EDUCATE yourself before putting your faith in false promises. The metaphysical world is very complex, powerful, and filled with some of the most mind-boggling magick....most of which you can tap into without buying a single, solitary thing. Untruthful sellers count on those who know nothing about metaphysics in order to take advantage of them. For example, if I speak Russian and you don't, and I tell you that DGUSGRU is a Russian word....how would you know if I was telling the truth or not? There are honest metaphysical sellers out there and by no means am I saying I am the only one. Please just educate yourself before putting a bid on a purple pegasus that will change your haircolor or make you sprout antennae.
I should also add that spirit bound items are very rare, they are often acquired through very difficult means (private auctions, private sales, other collections) and any honest metaphysical seller would not hawk items like this for the price of a cup of coffee or a movie ticket. You really do get what you pay for, and the metaphysical category is no exception.

- Enhance your intuition
