Have you noticed the trend of sellers listing the value of their stamps in Euros and then converting? They do this because the exchange rate comes out approximately 50% higher than the 2009 Scott catalogs.
While this practice was actually reasonable 2 years ago to reflect the drop of the dollar, the 2009 Scott catalogs have caught up to market conditions and reflect the actual 2008 selling prices and they already take the 2008 exchange rates into consideration.
To sum it all up, if you are using 2009 Scott catalogs they are accurate.... Any ebay listings that have the stamp values quoted in Euros are 50% too high and sometimes double the 2009 Scott value. This is also the case for stamps priced in British pounds.
