After 27 years of selling Vacuum Bag Sealers, I figured I should share my thoughts with anyone who is thinking about purchasing a Vacuum Bag Sealer. We sell a Pro-2300 Stainless Steel 15" wide vacuum sealer on Ebay for $379.00, the lowest price in the USA as we are the largest distributor for Weston Pro-2300 machines and buy in large volume.

You can watch a video clip of this machine in action at Sealers Unlimited. It has 935 watts of power and will seal up to 200 bags a day without over-heating

Our Vacmesh TM bags are competively priced, but if you can afford one in the long reun a chamber sealer saves you money.See our TC-280 model

The first thought that enters most people's minds when considering buying a vacuum bag sealer is cost!, wether it is for home use or commercial use. Most folks do not realize the main cost of vacuum sealing of any product like meats, fish, electronics, collectibles is not the cost of the machine, its the cost of the vacuum bags.

In the long run a person purchasing a "Foodsaver" type clamp machine will pay over four times the price for vacuum bags than the person who purchases a "Snorkle"(Spout) Type or Chamber vacuum Sealer.

For example on our website, we sell a 8" x 12" x 3 mil Quart size commercial vacuum bag for  approx 7.5 cents cents each, for our TC-280 Chamber vacuum sealer, the same bag for clamp (Foodsaver)" style" machines ranges about 35 cents each check it out at Vacmesh.

Not that the Foodsaver is at fault its a good machine, but it is not meant for production in my opinion.

So you will spend a lot more in the long run if you pack any quantity of items, its similar to the case made for computer printers, you can buy a new printer for $79.00 BUT the ink package costs $59.00 ! each time you run out .(We all experience this)

The second point to consider if you are a start up or established business is how many products per hour do I need to pack and does my product contain any liquids,if so you should look at 'Chamber sealers' as they are easier to use with wet items.

If you are packing electronics for instance you may want to consider a "Snorkle" spout type sealer, the one we sell runs on compressed air supply  Made in USA so there are very few things to wear out or go wrong.  check out the  Amerivacs AVN models at Sealers Unlimited.

Remember down time on repairs can make you loose a lot of money stick with reliable companies who offer back up parts and service. We sell domestic and imported sealers but we have the factory backup for parts and service in the USA. (Its no good buying a sealer from China on Ebay or from anywhere if you can't find the parts later) You will be looking for parts beleive me impulse sealer wires burn out ,teflon covers need replacing.

Another helpful chart is the time of food preservation comparing food in a regular poly bag in the Refrigerator or Freezer compared to a vacuumed pack check this out at Vacmesh.

So I hope I have helped in a small way to guide you on your choices before the purchase of any brand or model of a vacuum bag sealer. Regards Dave Jones President Dave Jones & Associates ,Inc.
