VONAGE VTECH SYSTEM is The Solution solution for cordless internet call service.
RELIABILITY
I bought the twin expandable system in 2006 and was very pleased with the product as it never dropped or missed calls. Prior to using the system I used PANASONIC'S telephone. Although it was an excellent telephone for landline calls, it did not work well with VONAGE, it dropped calls and missed calls.
DISTANCE
150 feet. Pleasantly surprised!
DIAL PAD
Excellent. This is VONAGE'S first telephone system paired with VTECH and a little behind as it does not have the bells and whistles of landline telephones. However, it serves its purpose well. The dial pad is clear and illuminates. The soft keys are not easily pressed by mistake as you hold it to your ear.
DESIGN
5/5 Very Good. Stands on its own. Fits snugly into the base, unlike other cordless telephones that I have used, the design cannot accidentally fall out of the base.
The belt clip is very useful. I can play fetch with the dog, work in the work room and never miss a call.
Earpiece 3/5 - a nice feature. It uses a standard headphone jack. The call is low but wonderful for checking voice mails, bank accounts, and et cetera; not recommended for a conversation.
SCREEN
Clear - includes Caller ID, time of call received, missed calls and et cetera. One particular nice "goodie", each caller's call is noted, rather than noting the sum of the calls as most landline phones operate.
DURABILITY
4/5 Thick plastic. The face plate is a silver design that scratches easily.
COLOR
Granite with silver trim. Beautiful, matches business decor.
OVERALL RATING
A 4 out of 5. Cons: Volume, only midrange. Difficult to hear in noisy environment. Pros: Vonage's first cordless is well-thought out, manual is very user friendly, distance is far.
