Don't let the low price of a VEGA modular helmet fool you.  Review after review have agreed that low price doesn't mean low quality when it comes to the VEGA helmet.  Check out all the details below.

TheVEGA Summit II introduced just this year, has a ton of features and is built with the motorcyclist in mind.  Here are a few of them:

1)  It's currently the lightest weight modular helmet on the market which allows for longer more comfortable rides.

2)  The shell is made of a polycarbonate material that makes it light yet durable.  Any flip front helmet maker bragging that it's shell is made of fiberglass, isn't telling you that their helmet is very heavy and gets heavier the longer you ride.

3)  The Summit II liner is well padded and plush for a great all over fit.  The liner is also removable which means that you can remove the liner to wash it or buy a brand new one if the old one ever wears out for around $19.99.  To wash the liner, just throw it in a pillow case or laundry bag and throw it in the washer on gentle with some woolite and it comes out fresh and like new.

4)  Most flip front helmets when tried on are short to the face.  That is, the chinbar when shut, is really close to the mouth of the rider.  The Summit II is stretched out so that there is plenty of clearance from the chinbar to the mouth.  This makes it perfect for headset and intercom systems and earplugs.

5)  The Summit II's front chinbar vents actually work!  Open up these vents and the air flows directly to the face of the rider.

6)  The front shield of the Summit II is a flush fitted, quick release shield.  The flush fit keeps the wind noise down and makes the Summit unusally quiet for a flip front helmet.  An added bonus is the quick release shield that easily is changed on and off.  VEGA offers clear, smoke, dark smoke, blue mirrored, red mirrored, silver mirrored, and high intensity yellow shields for their helmets too.  These shields cost no more than $29 for any of them and usually cost much less.  To see a variety of replacement shields click on the following link:  Summit II Shields

7)  The chin strap uses the tried and true D Ring system and has the same plush lining material mounted on the strap for comfort to the rider.  DOT quick releases can be bought and added for around $10 and are easily installed.  See this link to view these quick releases:  Quick Releases

8)  VEGA pays alot of attention to detail in producing their products and it shows in the paint and finish of all their helmets.  Many of the Summit II's are painted with metal flake paint that sparkles like a diamond in the sun.  The Summit II comes in Candy Red, Black, Titanium, Bright Blue Metallic, Bright Red, Pearl Yellow, White, Pearl White, Black Cherry Red, Silver, Dark Grey Metallic, and Gold.  Many of their helmets are color matched to the most popular motorcycles on the street.

9)  The chinbar release is a one finger release that is very easy to use.  Just puch the red release button and lift the chinbar all in one motion.  That's all there is to it!

10)  Best of all, every VEGA helmet whether it's a Summit II or one of their popular open face models, comes with a 1 Year Warranty against product defects.

In summary, the Summit II performs really well and is considered by many to be one of the better flip up helmets, regardless of price.  It's relatively quiet and has more internal room than many other flip up motorcycle helmets.  It comes with a comfortable removable liner, great air flow, and good looking paint and finish.  Don't let the low price fool you, try it for yourself.  VEGA has a great return policy and will exchange or refund your purchase should you decide the Summit II is not for you.  See helmets-n-more ebay store to view the Summit II, the liners, and the shields by clicking this linkSummit II Helmets
