Many kid's both boys and girls, of all ages watch Dora The Explorer and her cousin Diego. If your kids are amongst the kids who love Dora and Diego, throwing an Explorer themed children's party can be really neat and fun. With a few of the right party favors you children's party is sure to be a success.

Making Children's Parties An Educational Experience

I'm a a firm believer in the idea of educating children at every opportunity possible.  Sometimes we have to sneak the education in with the fun stuff, whether it is through books or children's parties. It is worth the trouble, because many times this is another way kids learn new things that will carry a life long message.

Making The Children's Party Fun

There are a lot of the everyday children's party favors, signs, cake pans, and other decorations geared towards Dora and Diego fans, but you can use all of those types of things while incorporating some of your own homemade fun into the mix.

Before the children's party begins, set up an "expedition table" of sorts. Obviously, the best time to throw an expedition children's party would be on a nice sunny day, when you can take the kid's on a nature walk. If you live in town you may have to stage this pre-party in the backyard or have the party at the local  park.

The expedition table can be made up of leaves from various different types of trees, gem stones, a grasshopper in a jar, different types of flowers and things like that. Have the kid's gather around the table and let them touch and look at everything. Explain to the children what the different things are and the differences between similar items. You can even go so far as to make a volcano with vinegar and baking soda. This is an excellent way to get all the kid's at the children's party involved in something fun and interesting.

Children's Parties Don't Have To Be Traditional

For older kids who can read, you can print out  short bursts of information and educational facts from the internet, including them in the children's loot bags. No matter what theme you decide on for the children's party, make it fun and be creative. You can certainly incorporate store-bought party favors you purchase online, but make sure you add your own special touch to give the children attending the party a memorable time they will talk about in years to come.
