If you make your own baby food, you need to try a potato ricer.  This is a hand held kitchen tool that comes with 2 different disks that go inside it.  One for fine and one for coarse holes.

A potato ricer is perfect for making your own homemade baby food because it breaks down the food into really small pieces.  Once you have the food broken down just add a little liquid of your choice to the food to make it the consistency that your baby likes.

I have used mine about 5 times now (used a blender before) and it works great for carrots, potatoes, peaches.  It did not work so great on pears for me.  I also used it to make egg salad for my husband's lunch.  That was the fastest way that I had made egg salad.
