Don't throw those old moccasins away with the good irreplacable
beadwork. You can wear moccasins out and still have good beadwork on the
toes. Several of my powwow regalia, rondvooers, and reenactment customers
carefully remove the beadwork from the old moccasins and sew their old
beadwork to new moccasins and it looks just as good as it did on the
orginal pair.Sometimes you can buy old moccasins on eBay and sew that
beadwork on a new pair of moccasins. There are beaded toe tabs beaders
made especially for this purpose. This was a fairly common practice
among most tribal people. They seldom had the time or beads to sew or
do new beadwork when they were on the move. It often takes far more
time to bead the moccasin than to make a new pair.

These are the deerskin centre seam with nice strawberry beadwork toe tabs attached and ready for dancing.
With a blue jingle dress oooo laaaaaa laaaaaaaaaaa! jingle, jingle, jingle, more swish, swish like wind blown grass.
I heard over a 100 jingle dresses all at one evening dance at a PoWWow in Michigan one time. I was like lying on the prairie and listening to the wind blow the buffalo grass! How those copenhagen smokless can lids can sound so natural is beyond me.
Thanks for reading this rambling.
Sincerely,
Woody
