So we all love the store! We all know it's one of the top brands for children to sell (and resell) on ebay. But ever wonder how sellers can afford to sell their clothes for so much cheaper, when the retail value of their prices are so high to begin with? Just like real estate's slogan is 'location, location, location.' I'm here to tell you that one of many ebay sellers' secrets lie in Gymbucks, Gymbucks, Gymbucks!
GYMBUCKS ISSUANCE & REDEEMPTION. What is this, you may ask? For all who don't know, or who may be new to Gymboree, (aside from sales) GYMBUCKS ARE GOLD to making your shopping experience affordable through the year. Technically, as stated by Gymboree: You earn $25 off of your next $50 purchase during redeemption period, when you spend $50 during an issuance period!
Now what to do with your gymbucks once you've earned them?! Spend them, of course, but on what?!Here's what I would do:
#1. Buy sale items while earning your gymbucks. And then, when redeemption time comes... BUY MORE SELL ITEMS! I cannot stress enough how much you can save by doing this. Think about it. Just for example, if you were to buy about (5-6) sell items at $9.99 or less to EARN a gymbuck, then come back and buy about (5-6) sell items at $9.99 or less to REDEEM your gymbuck you have about 10-12 items that you only paid $75 for altogether. So techincally, if we do the math you spent less than $8 for each item. On average, you can pay about $26 an item, full-price at any Gymboree. Multiply $26 by 10 or 12, and you'll have a savings of $185-$240 off retail prices. That's pretty good.
#2. Or...if you prefer to pick up that full price item, think about it, you're only paying 1/2 of the original price! An item that is listed at $32, will be yours for only $16 with your GYMBUCK. That's a big difference! (Funny enough, the 50% gymbuck is an even better deal than Gymboree even gives to their employees!!!!)
#3. Most important way to buy Gymboree Affordably with Gymbucks is to Give Yourself a Budget & stick to it!!!!!!!! I personally look online at everything I want to buy before I go into the store if I'm looking at redeeming my gymbucks on full-priced items. That way, I know exactly what I want to spend my money on. It's also easier to add up what you're spending online too. If I'm going into the stores, I'm usually buying sale, and key items that are sold out online. I'm a stickler at not going over by more than $5-10 the $50 increment they require. It's easy to over spend, and that's not what you want to do. You want to save, and buy affordably, remember? You can save by being a stickler too.
Check out the website for all the other legal stuff that goes with this event. As with any company, there are some rules and guidelines that go along with them, but I've touched the surface on how to use them.
So now, go out and get'em girls!
