With their popularity growing we receive quite a few emails asking us how these work. While fairly new and unfamiliar glass screens are a healthier and more economical alternative to brass and metal screens. Available in different styles the most popular are the jack and daisy styles. We offer screens made from high quality pyrex glass only because these screens are non-toxic and virtually unbreakable under normal use. When buying screens make sure they are made with high quality glass and not the soft glass some offer as a cheap alternative which can shatter under high heat. Glass screens that have a stem or are all identical is one way to tell the difference and these are usually machine made and not hand blown. Have you ever seen something made by hand were each piece is the same everytime? We are sure most would agree your health and safety is not worth saving a few pennies. Glass screens have become the first choice for many connoisseurs around the world.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Reusable saving you money
  • No more clogged or torn screens
  • Completely non-toxic
  • They absorb and keep heat out of the chamber
  • Heat the bottom of your tobacco or herbal blend creating a more robust and full flavor product

The use of glass pipe screens is much easier than brass and metal screens as well. No more cutting down screens that don't fit or trying to get a screen to stay in a pipe bowl made of glass without popping out when heated. You simply drop them in (as seen in photo below) and add your tobacco or herbal blend. Cleaning the screens is easy as well. For heavily used screens we recommend using an old toothbrush and a quality pipe cleaner such as Orange Chronic to remove the gunk or for the environmentally conscience Agent Orange and Green Hits work just as well. You can also use Pipe Wipes after each use and keep them clean between uses. Just wrap the screen in a wipe and rotate between your fingers while rubbing. We hope this guide is useful and clears up some of the confusion on this exciting new product. Please visit our store for a complete selection of smoking & lifestyle accessories.
