Yard sales are great for turning stuff you no longer need into cash, but they can be such a hassle. Ebay lets you do the same thing without all the trouble and gives your items a chance to sell by thousands of people, none of whom will trample your landscaping.
What should you sell on Ebay? That is THE question. Here is the Answer.
Whenever you get something new, sell the old one on Ebay instead of throwing it in the trash. You will save the environment and make a little cash in the meantime, not to mention honing your Ebay Skills.
For example, you just got your husband a new electric shaver. The old one probably still works, so put it up on Ebay for 99 cents starting bid. That will only cost you 35 cents and chances are someone, somewhere will buy it for a spare to keep in their car. One man's junk IS another's treasure.
Or, you just bought a new set of cordless phones. The old ones probably still work. List them on Ebay for 99 cents opening bid. Someone out there needs that cordless phone and can't afford what you just bought.
Another example would be a Digital Camera. The one you bought several years ago may not have the features and pixel count of your new one, but out there somewhere is a teenager looking for a deal on a starter camera. Guess what, you might get $30 for it. You won't get that price at a yard sale.
College textbooks! Got some old College textbooks, or some of your kid's? Those REALLY do well on Ebay. Many professors allow older editions to be used. Even if the book is 'obsolete', many people buy them just for the enjoyment of learning something new.
Just bought a new Expresso machine? List your old coffee maker on Ebay. I could go on forever, but my point is that virtually everything you replace can be sold on Ebay, to someone, for some price. Listing things for 99 cents starting bid costs almost nothing and watching the bids pile is a LOT of FUN.
One last category of things are books. Just bought a $20 hardback book and now are finished reading it? List it for 1/2 price on Ebay noting in your listing that it is new but has read once. Avoid clutter around the house and recover some of the cost of the book!
