There are people who love to use auction templates and others who do not. By template, I mean more than just the basic auction description and photos but something that goes beyond - perhaps an auction with a border or design or pattern. Ebay offers several template options or you may decide to make your own. There are also many sellers who offer templates and some of their designs are stunning.     There are some auctions where templates can really help you sell an item. Browse the item categories. look at closed auctions and bid price and see which ones were likely to have templates. The experiment with templates and see if they make a difference in your sales. Have fun, be creative, try to let your templates reflect your individuality while showcasing your products.

Never forget that the focus of any listing should be your item, NOT the border. If the two don't complement each other, something is out of balance.


In certain categories, people may actually be turned off by templates. If you use them, keep your descriptions straightforward. 

    Finally, if you do use templates, please do not make your auction overly busy. Do not let the template overwhelm the photos or the description. Remember, that the RIGHT template can help sell your item and the wrong one can clash with your photos and make your items seem less attractive.
