Cosmetic Glitter Makeup And It's Many Uses:
In addition to applying cosmetic glitter to your face and body you can use this versatile glitter in your altered art, jewelry and craft projects. I like to use it in all my projects... I just love sparkle! Below are some of it's many uses!I also use these techniques with my cosmetic Mica Pigments and it works wonders!
Polymer Clay:Mix a small amount in your polymer clay (I like to use the same color glitter in the same color clay for a subtle effect or mix multi colored glitter in transparent glitter for a faux gemstone look. You can also apply it to your baked clay items for a more whimsical look .
Paint:Add some sparkle to your craft paint or sealers. This may not work with all types of sealer so you may want to try it by testing out a small amount of sealer mixed with glitter on a paper plate or piece of paper first before applying to your item.
Nail art:Mix a small amount in clear or colored polish for nail art that says "BLING". Gone are the days of having to own every color of polish... create your own!
Body Paint:Tattoo and decorate your face and body with glitter by applying a sticking agent to the skin first. I like to use Mac mixing medium or shea butter. Not only does this help the glitter to stick but allows for a longer and more bold application.
Body Gel And Lotions:Mix desired amount into your favorite body gel or lotion for sparkley skin. Only a small amount is needed so start with a little and you can always add more.
Paper Embellishment:Draw a design on paper or outline an existing design with clear drying glue and then shake your sparkles on top. After it dries you can tap the paper over the trash or into a ziploc baggie to remove the excess glitter and save it for next time!
There are really many more uses. The sky is the limit so let your imaginations run wild!
How To Apply Loose Cosmetic Glitter To The Face & Body: Used alone, it will stick slightly but add a base or mixing medium and the appearance makes a much more vibrant and bold statement! Even though it is cosmetic grade please be careful around the eyes. Anything foreign can cause irritation so use caution!
For a more painted look:Mix your glitter with a mixing medium (I like to use Mac mixing medium).Apply like a paint to desired area. Not only will the application be smooth and sparkley but it will stay on longer! This is great for when you want to draw designs or tattoo etc...
For regular application:Apply a base or mixing medium to the desired area. After a few moments the area will be tacky. Apply glitter over the mixing medium. Simple as can be!
