Sellers of Used, Antiques and Vintage Collectible items...
"A courteous seller makes for a happy buyer"
1.) If you're a smoker, use perfume or have pets, be courteous to your buyers and store your items and packing materials somewhere in your home, such as your garage or basement, somewhere away from cigarette smoke, perfume and pet(s). Many items such as paper, fabric, wood etc. can absorb odors quickly or collect pet hair & dander. Some of your buyers may not care while others find it offensive.
2.) Even if you're not a smoker, use perfume or have pets. Do your items really come from a "Smoke Free Pet Free Home"? This may be true of your home, but... Stop and think when you're out there buying the stuff for resale..... whether it's from Garage Sales, Second Hand Shops, Flea Markets, Auctions, Private Estates etc.
Do you ask the folks your buying from these questions, even when everything appears to be neat, clean and tidy...if they smoke, use perfume, have pets, etc...?...NO...you just buy the stuff... unless the item you want has an obvious offensive odor.....then you pass it by.
3.) After buying things BE SURE TO CLEAN them up and make them presentable and as odorless as possible before reselling.
But keep in mind, there are still people who do have a super sensitivity to smells and animals....even though the item may appear to be clean and odor free to you, there's always that possibility of pet hair or an odor that remains.
4.) A couteous seller makes for a happy buyer :-)
