When it comes to buying Sterilization Equipment, as with other Medical Equipment, the range of works used
to explain a given condition of equipment can vary greatly from not only piece to piece, but dealer to dealer.
A used unit it just that. It may work, it may not. It can be useful for 1 day or 10 years. You really need to
know what your buying or seek technical assistance from a professional. When considering refurbished/reconditioned sterilizers, things can get even more confusing. Refurbished/Reconditioned units
can run from someone who cleans and paints the unit, including the pipes, to totally like new units that have
been fully refurbished, replumbed, and rewired. I have been a Biomedical Electronics Technician since 1977 and trust me, I have seen them all. Make sure the unit is properly represented. Pictures should show all angles,
not just the front face. Refurbished units should havestainless panels that are polished, not painted. Piping and wiring should appear shiny and bright not dull or painted over. The best thing to do is insist on a minimum of
a one year warranty on Refurbished/Reconditioned Units and get everything in writing. Don't fall for a used unit
that may not last you for the first year, when you can get a refurbished warranted unit for a little bit more..
