I have bought several bows on Ebay and Sold several as well. I found that most very good to excellent Fred Bear bows will sell in the $150 to $200 range. They must be in great condition to fetch these prices though. No cracks, twists, drilled holes, etc. If the seller posts several photos of the bow from all angles then he is more then likely be open and honest about what he is selling. If only 1 or 2 photos are on auction site then I am usually wary of the bow. I personnaly try to post a photo of the bow from all angles and will email photos to potential buyers. As another Guide Writer wrote, if you can buy a Bear bow for less then $125 then you have done well. If you bought it for under $100 then pat yourself on the back.
It is hard to date most Bear bows. I have found several sites that list the year range that most Bear bows were manufactured, and this will help you get within a close proximity to the correct year. If the bow looks damaged to the point that youd be afraid to shoot it, then dont, or at least have it checked out by a reputable bow shop before you do. If your plans are to collect old Bear Bows, then buy but keep your eye out for other bows and what they are bringing. You might stumble upon a bargain.
