You Need To Read Before Buying The Intel Core 2 Q6600 Processor !!
Greetings, I have been looking for a decent deal on an Intel Core 2 Q6600 ® for a few weeks now. I have searched the normal hardware stores on the net. Places like Newegg. MWAVE, And All the others. Something very importent I have learned, is that there are already 4 versions of this chip. Most ebay sellers as well as internet stores don't say or print anything about the bar code. However, it makes a big diff in the chips ability to run cool as well as multi task. Here is the one that's the latest version. It will have in the product code on the box (many ebay sellers have cut it out of the photos or box) Or it may be on the normal bar code. Look for "GO" as well as SLACR. May look like this SLACRGO or SLACR-GO. This, is the latest version #3 of this fine chip. BUt paying normal prices for a first or second version is silly, when you can go down to most retail stores look at the box and buy this chip for the same or even a little less than on eBay. eBay is by far more expensive on most procesors than searching google and price grabber. I also look at the core 2 duo 6750. and don't be fooled because it cost less than the E6700, it's far better and newer chip than the normal E6700 that everyone is trying to sell and not even mention the 6750, which is less, and a lot better chip. It has, many of the same functions as the Core 2 Quad. And, once the stores and sellers are out of the E6700 chip, watch the price of the E6750 jump up about 20 to 25%. No fooling, I have done much more research than I should have because, all I want to do is buy the best items I can for the best price and build a new system. However, take my advise. Look at what you really need. Are you going to be doing a lot of games? Then, buy items which will support it. But, are you looking for a home system that will do everything you need but don't play games? Then, save the money for something other tha a computer you'l only use half it's ability. ASUS has nice Motherboards, but did you know that with MS Vista they have a problem working right? ASUS blames the OS, and the OS blames ASUS. Look at the ABIT board. Made in California. Or, the Giga-Byte Motherboards. Both of these have very high rateing running both XP, Vista 32 and 64 bit OS.
OK, just wanted to let everyone know what I've learned researching for the past few weeks. Also, I lost out on a few good buys by waiting as the chip prices have jumped. ALSO WORTH NOTEING. Do you have a store named FRY'S in your area? Look at Friday's ads, for CPU and Motherboard combos. Two weeks ago they had a new combo core 2 duo 6750, and a very nice ABIT board for $228.00. That's less than most ebay sellers are getting for chip. Or, not much less for the chip only. ALso, can view and watch weekly ads on frys.com. OK, now good day friends and thanks for allowing me to share with you.
