Is your baby actually having a conversation with you and you aren't even aware of it? Learn the real meaning behind those "coos" and "goos" that baby babbles.
As much as I would like to take credit for discovering such an interesting idea, I can not. In all honesty, I owe this tender morsel of fun to the Queen of Talk Show herself-- Ms. Oprah Winfrey.
This story begins with a young lady by the name of Priscilla Dunston who was discovered to have a photographic memory for sound. As the years progressed she not only found that she was capable of memorizing obscene amounts of information, but she found that she had an uncanny ability to relate to her own little baby. As her relationship developed with her little one, other relationships developed with the babies she had come into contact with. What she discovered was absolutely jaw dropping.
Ms. Priscilla studied the specific patterns in the cry of babies and found that because of reflexes-- babies have a language all their own! To cut to the chase, here is what she found:
"Neh"= I'm hungry
"Owh"= I'm sleepy
"Heh"= I'm experiencing discomfort
"Eair"= I have lower gas
"Eh"= I need to burp
Most of these sounds occur before an outright baby meltdown, so be careful to listen before it's too late!
While I don't have a newly born little one to try these ideas out, it is definitely intriguing to think that these noises could actually be a way for babies to communicate with us. It would definitely take the guess work out of a lot of crying!
Enjoy and happy listening!....becki Sweetbaby Nursing Blankets
