Unlock Code Instructions for Sidekick/Hiptop Cell Phones for All Networks

In this guide I will show you how to enter unlock codes into your Sidekick/Hiptop cell phone so that it will be unlocked from your carrier. First you need an unlock code of course. If you don't have an unlock code yet, please search my eBay store for by clicking here. .

Below are instructions that work for most network providers. 

How to Enter Unlock Codes on Sidekick/Hiptop Cell Phones (all models):

1. Insert a SIM card from a different network provider and turn on the Sidekick. A dialog screen comes up, prompting you for the code.

3. In the upper right hand corner, the SIM is flashing where the signal strength should be. On entering the code, a dialog box comes up saying authenticating code. It’s unlocked. Enjoy.

In case you see the “Waiting for Activation Screen”, hit the menu key and the letter L key at the same time. If you have a Sidekick 3, use the Del instead of the L key. The menu key is the top left key. By doing this, the waiting screen will go away and you will be able to make calls. For best results, hold down Menu and the L key until the Waiting for Activation screen disappears.
