Unlimited Space vs. Limited Space

You see them all the time on eBay... companies that will offer you UNLIMITED disk space & UNLIMITED / UNMETERED bandwidth.  But you have to ask yourself how can companies offer 'unlimited space' and 'unlimited bandwidth'?  The truth is simple - they can't!  Bandwidth always costs money and as for space... there's no unlimited hard drive.

When you come to a company that claims that they can give you unlimited space and bandwidth, they are straight out lying to you.  If your site generates too many hits, they will cut you off.  Think about it - can you think about anything else that costs a fixed price for an unlimited quantity?   It's not economical.  After you start using a certain amount of their resources, they will no longer be making any money off of you, and they will terminate your account with them.

Another thing to consider - most companies that offer unlimited disk space and unlimited bandwidth will limit your files to pictures and text only.  They won't let you store movie clips or audio files of any kind.  If you still think after reading this that you want this type of service, be sure to read through their TOS, because if you start putting content up on their servers that they don't allow, they will take down your site and possibly ban you from their service.

Make sure, especially if your hosting a business site (or if your a reseller, hosting a customers business site), don't let yourself be left out in the cold.

FEEDBACK ONLY COUNTS FOR SO MUCH

Realize this.... If you sign up with a web hosting provider today, and both parties leave positive feedback for each other within a few weeks max.  But now say after 6-7 months, your using too much of their resources and they shut you down.  What are you going to do then?  The answer is, nothing!  You've already left your feedback, so theres no more recourse for you.  Even if you didn't leave feedback, you only have 90 days to leave it.  So the bottom line is, only take a web hosts feedback with a grain of salt.
