There has come word today that Union Products has gone under. Man, this is TERRIBLE news for the blow mold community! It is also such a Christmas tragedy for all blow molders that collect these wonderful figures. I wonder if they are completely out of business or are they just discontinuing their holiday items like Grand Venture did? When you think about it, General Foam is now the only "major" player in the market! I'm afraid that Farley (Canada) has priced themselves out of the market. (I guess we will see.) Drainage doesn't produce that many blow molds compared to what the other companies do (in the past obviously). We can only hope that General Foam does well this year since they won't have much competition. And here's another thought. Who are we going to have for retailers this year? I expect that WalMart will still carry a few blow molds, but as most of us know their buying and marketing people still don't really know much about blow molds. I am very sorry to see Union Products leave our blow mold community as Christmas is almost upon us for this lighting season. Goodbye, Union Products. I will miss you .
